The third annual Labryinto takes place in Guanacaste, Costa Rica with headliners like Black Coffee, Adriatique, and ANOTR.
After a successful sophomore edition that helped usher in 2023, Labryinto is slated to return to the Guanacaste Coast of Costa Rica from December 12, 2023 to January 2, 2024. Ahead of the third installment, organizers have now shared a lineup sure to stoke interest among fans of melodic techno as well as deep and progressive house.
Black Coffee tops the Labryinto 2024 bill — and rightly so, as the South African house music artist is easily the most accomplished artist on the lineup. Directly below him are Adriatique, ANOTR, a back-to-back set between Carlita and Denis Cruz, Elif, and WhoMadeWho. Following a showcase for Konstantin‘s Giegling label as well as supporting acts Eda, Malakita, and Melissa O — the latter of whom also serves as creative director — the flyer notes that additional artists will be announced leading up to the event.
“Unveiling the Portal to Sonic Dimensions!” reads Labryinto’s social media post sharing the lineup. “The wait is over – behold the mesmerizing lineup for our time-bending labyrinth. Get ready to transcend reality and journey through the portals of sound and rhythm!”
This esoteric brand voice is not new to Labryinto as each year introduces a different theme. Last year, for instance, Melissa O revealed that the 2023 event would contemplate AI and fungus. According to Summer Festival Guide, she explained, “Over the last decades, humans have been creating species of superior beings called artificial intelligence. Now we imagine that in 20-30 years, with the help of mushrooms and other sacred plants, these AIs will acquire a higher consciousness and understanding of life which will allow them to live in harmony with nature, protecting life on this planet better than what we have ever been able to.”
Eccentric or otherwise, this level of intention bodes well as Labryinto continues to build its community. It’s safe to say the lineup alone has inserted the gathering into the worldwide conversation about New Years house and techno events.
